UPPER PENINSULA HEALTH PLAN

APPROPRIATE ANTIBIOTIC USE INITIATIVE

The Upper Peninsula Health Plan (UPHP) has a major, ongoing initiative to guide antibiotic use. Through this initiative, UPHP:

 

  • Provides physicians with tools to help educate patients about appropriate
    antibiotic use and symptomatic relief of upper respiratory infections (URIs).
  • Provides physicians with the most current guidelines for appropriate antibiotic prescriptions for adults and children.
  • Educates UPHP members and other Upper Peninsula residents about appropriate antibiotic use, antibiotic resistance, and ways to relieve symptoms associated with URIs.
