Intentional exercise is an important part of diabetes management.  It will help reduce blood sugar level and overall health while lowering your risk of heart disease and stroke.

Before starting an exercise regimen, it’s important to discuss it with your primary care provider.  They may want to discuss how activities affect your blood sugar or if there is a certain time that is best for you to exercise.  Your provider may tell you to check your blood sugar before, during and after exercise to ensure your blood sugar levels do not drop too low.
