Many issues can arise when blood sugar is left unchecked for a long period of time. One such issue is diabetic neuropathy. It’s a sneaky problem: you may not notice any symptoms until lots of damage has already happened. At that point, the damage can be very painful.
The most common neuropathy in people living with diabetes is called peripheral neuropathy. It occurs in the arms, hands, legs and feet.

Per mayoclinic.org, “Diabetic nephropathy is a serious complication of type 1 diabetes and type 2 diabetes. It’s also called diabetic kidney disease. In the United States, about 1 in 3 people living with diabetes have diabetic nephropathy.” The National Kidney Foundation states, diabetes is the leading cause of kidney failure.

If you are diagnosed with prediabetes, maybe you are overwhelmed or maybe you don’t think it’s a big deal. Well, I am here to say it is kind of a big deal. However, the good news is prediabetes can be reversed. This part is up to you. Eating healthy food and getting regular physical activity is how this can be done. As the CDC says “Prediabetes = Prevent Diabetes”. Now’s the time to make the change.
Lifestyle change is hard. Little changes make a big difference. So give yourself grace and keep trying.
