What to do now:

Make sure your address, phone number, and email are up to date. The easiest way to update your contact information, check your redetermination date to stay on top of your benefits, and renew your benefits is online at Michigan.gov/MIBridges. You can also call the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS) at 1-844-464-3447 and they will be able to change your information.

Renewal Process:

Michigan Medicaid must be renewed every year now that Covid is over. You may get a renewal packet in the mail about 30 days before your coverage ends. The packet will include an application form to fill out and send back to the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS). The due date is listed on the first page of your packet.

The application asks about your income, household size, and any changes that may affect your eligibility. Be sure to complete the form accurately. If you have questions, need help, or need to complete renewal paperwork, visit the Michigan.gov/MIBridges website or call MDHHS at 1-844-464-3447. If you don’t know your MI Bridges login information, please contact the Beneficiary Helpline at 1-800-642-3195 (TTY: 1-866-501-5656). If you plan to complete the renewal paperwork using the physical packet, you can call MDHHS or Upper Peninsula Health Plan (UPHP) for help. Please call our Medicaid Renewal team at 906-225-8778 to get help from a UPHP team member with redetermination, checking important dates, or asking general questions.

After you submit your renewal application, it may take a while for MDHHS to process it. Keep using your Medicaid benefits as usual. You will get a notice in the mail when your renewal is processed.
