Renewal Process:
Michigan Medicaid must be renewed every year. You may get a renewal packet in the mail about 60 days before your coverage ends. The packet will include an application form to fill out and send back to the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS). The due date is listed on the first page of your packet.
If you receive a renewal packet and do not complete the application by your due date, you could lose your Medicaid benefits.
The application asks about your income, household size, and any changes that may affect your eligibility. Be sure to complete the form accurately. If you have questions or need help, visit the Michigan.gov/MIBridges website or call the Beneficiary Helpline at 1-800-642-3195 (TTY:1-866-501-5656).
After you submit your renewal application, it may take a while for MDHHS to process it. Continue using your Medicaid benefits as usual. You’ll get a notice in the mail when your renewal is approved or denied.
Remember, renewing your Medicaid coverage is vital to keeping your healthcare benefits. If you have questions or need help, visit the Michigan.gov/MIBridges website, call the Beneficiary Helpline or contact UPHP customer service at 1-800-835-2556 (TTY 711).
